3 resources to take care of you

We know that you are growing weary as we deal with the tensions of the political season of elections, the COVID-19 pandemic that rages on, and the division within the denomination. Here are three resources for you to feed your soul and take care of you.

Total Well-Being website: As a pastoral leader in your church, members of your congregation and community lean heavily on you in times of crisis and celebration, when navigating new life pathways and while in despair. As you care for others, you may neglect yourself. Your ability to provide effective leadership for your church and community depends greatly on your own total well-being. We encourage you to share your concerns with someone you trust. Someone with your best interests at heart. Someone who can encourage and support you during difficult times. Your district superintendent is a tremendous resource and is often the best first person to seek out. Others who are prepared and equipped to provide support and connect you with resources include the Clergy Total Well-being Team.  This website has contact information and resources to achieve total well-being.

Soul Fill-up: Soul Fill-up is a mid-week time for church leaders to take a breath and to slow down. Let us pour into your soul and refill your cup during guided scripture reading, prayer, and meditation led by the spiritual directors of the Higher Ground program.  There is nothing that you need to do or prepare, just set this 30-40 minutes aside for yourself and join us! Click here to join us, on Wednesdays at 9:00 a.m. central time, 8:00 a.m. mountain time. View all past Soul Fill-up sessions here.  If you would like to receive a calendar invite, so that the weekly Soul Fill-up sessions show up on your calendar, e-mail Susan Punt at susan.punt@dakotasumc.org and she will send you a calendar invite.

A prayer for the disssatisfied: Rev. Rachel Warner, who serves the United Methodist Church in Anoka, Minnesota, shares this prayer as we all deal with dissatificaiton that comes in uncertain times.
