It was estimated that in 2014 churches would give $3.80 million in apportionments. As of January 16th, the Dakotas Finance Office has received $3.74 million.
The Finance Office has received word from a handful of churches that will be sending in final 2014 apportionments late. The late submissions are estimated at over $60,000. The late remittances will bring the total for 2014 above $3.80 million.

A new method for calculating apportionments for local churches began on January 1, 2014. The method calls for churches to pay 16% of the current operating income. Operating income includes donations or funds that are collecting for the operating budget of the church. Click here to see a detailed definition of operating income. 2014 also marked the second highest participation rate in recent history. The number of churches that participated in submitting monies that were apportioned was one of the highest on record. Over 95 % of churches in the Dakotas Conference actively paid apportionments.
