Members of Bismarck McCabe UMC recently spent time at Spirit Lake Ministry Center carrying out various service projects as part of the pledge members of church had made to the 10,000 Hour Miracle Offering.

The 10,000 Hour Miracle Offering called for churches to have at least 10 people commit to at 10 hours of service to one of these conference missions: Bakken Oil Rush Ministry—Watford City, Out in Faith Oil Rush Ministry—Williston, Dakotas Camp and Retreat Ministry, Solar Oven Partners, Tree of Life and Spirit Lake Ministry. Churches and individuals pledged over 18,000 hours of service.
Rev. Jenny Hallenbeck Orr shared at the 2016 Annual Conference in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, a love story between McCabe UMC and the Spirit Lake Ministry Center. The story includes: a God moment with a Christmas Eve offering of $4,800 for a convection oven, Shoebox Christmas, a choir mission trip and more. Listen to the message here.
The volunteer team of choir members from Bismarck McCabe UMC visited the Spirit Lake Ministry Center to help an elder on the Spirit Lake Nation.The elder needed the siding removed from her house so another team could put the new siding on. The choir from McCabe stepped up and completed the task in two days.

The volunteers then worked around the Ministry Center painting the newly named McCabe sleeping cabin, hosting a hymn sing for the Ministry's congregation and cutting the grass.
“The choir blessed many people while they were here,” said Mike Flowers, director of Spirit Lake Ministry Center. “We are thankful for their service and our connection to McCabe and all of the churches throughout the Dakotas Conference.”
