250 people turned out for a Soup and Sandwich Benefit Luncheon on March 30 to send two enthusiastic Bismarck teenagers as volunteers-in-mission to Haiti next summer. Alexandra Cleary and Sara Bolme, members at McCabe UMC in Bismarck, will join a Haiti Solar Oven Partners team in July.

Alex and Sara applied for and received a Bremer Family Matching Grant through Dakotas United Methodist Foundation. The grant combined with luncheon donations helped meet their goal.
Upon hearing the results, HSOP Director Rick Jost assured the girls that their fund-raising efforts will be adequate: “The results of your benefit luncheon on Sunday are amazing and will certainly cover the trip for Alexandra and Sara this summer. Hats off to McCabe UMC for this outpouring of support for future mission leaders!”
