Called: One word, many ways —Sharla's story

Sharla McCaskell was called to ministry at camp. It was there she recalls saying to God, “Whatever you want to do with my life Lord, I want to serve you.”

She went to college and got a job. People would say to her, “Have you ever thought about being a pastor?” She thought I am beyond deciding what to do with my life. I have decided already.

Sharla got involved in First United Methodist Church in Rapid City. Rev. Doug Diehl recognized the gifts that she had to become a pastor. She finally acted on it.

Pastor Sharla is currently serving as a local licensed pastor at Rapid City Knollwood Heights UMC.
