Picture the Bible story/coloring book: This book for families to use at home, offers a simple retelling of Holy Week stories with Bible references, illustrations of each story, five drawings to color, and an interactive question for each story.  Access resource

What we do in Lent: A child’s activity book: This selection of activities is intended to help children ages 4-7 learn about the seasons of Lent and Easter. It’s taken from a book by Anne E. Kitch.  Access resource

Hosanna and Hallelujah community art projects: As yard and sidewalk art is appearing in neighborhoods everywhere while people are sheltered at home, the idea behind this activity is simple: Use materials you have at home (sidewalk chalk, paper, paint, crayons, etc.) and create a “Hosanna” banner or message on Palm Sunday and/or a “Hallelujah” banner or message for Easter Sunday.  Learn more

Celebrating Holy Week with kids: Website Godspace offers some great activities for kids, ranging from a LEGO resurrection garden to a tin foil cross to printable stations of the cross.  See all ideas

God’s Big Easter Story: A Holy Week Journey for Families: The Christian Reformed Church in North America offers eight brief devotions that can be downloaded and printed to encourage families to breathe, read, wonder, and pray together. Kids can add printable story symbols to a path that follows Jesus's journey from Palm Sunday to Easter morning.  Access booklet

Passport to Easter: Fill up a passport book as you journey with Jesus as he walked to the cross. Each day make a stop explore, scripture, pray, and complete an activity to mark your stop in your passport book. Rev. Kris Mutzenberger, who serves as the discipleship pastor at First UMC in Fargo, North Dakota, has developed a week-long, multi-generational, set of materials. Access resource

Holy Week at home: A packet of scripture, activities, and prayer that begins on Palm Sunday through Easter. Activities utilize items that can be found around most homes. The guide fits for everyone elementary through adults. Created by the Children’s and Youth Ministry team at Legacy UMC in Bismarck, North Dakota. Access resource
