Sioux Falls, S.D. – Many people throughout the Dakotas and the world will be fed thanks to the bidders and buyers at the Dakota Marketplace held Saturday, September 22, 2012 at Sioux Falls First UMC.
Over sixty quilts that were created and designed by churches throughout the Dakotas Conference were auctioned off. Many quilts sold for over $500 with one quilt receiving a bid of $1,800.
Several other items were auctioned off including eggs for $30 each, paintings, jewelry and wood items. A handmade table sold for $425.
Buyers also had a chance to purchase items through a silent auction, craft bazar, farmers market and bake sale with homemade pies at the Dakotas Marketplace.
Proceeds from the event go to hungry ministries in the Dakotas Conference and through UMCOR.
