Mike Flowers, Associate Director of Missional Impact, and Doug Diehl, Coordinator of Missional Leadership Development will step down from these conference leadership roles on July 1, 2015.
Mike Flowers was assigned to the role of Associate Director of Missional Impact in at the beginning of 2014. In this role he has coordinated efforts of the Dakotas Conference in mission outreach in the Bakken Oil Field and beyond. Flowers has also served as the co-director of Spirit Lake Ministry Center with his wife Libby.
“It has been challenging to balance the two roles,” said Mike Flowers. “Although all mission work of the Conference is important, my heart is really at Spirit Lake.”
Doug Diehl, has been serving as the Coordinator of Missional Leadership Development since the fall of 2013. Doug has coordinated the work of the Board of Ordained Ministry and several clergy training efforts. Doug serves part time in the leadership role.
“I officially retired as an ordained elder in July of 2014. I would like to retire full time to enjoy time with family and volunteering,” said Diehl.
“I am grateful for the many efforts and talents that Mike and Doug have shared with the Conference. I know we have all benefited from their work,” said Bishop Bruce R. Ough, resident bishop.
The Dakotas Conference Cabinet is currently considering options for the future of both of these leadership roles.
