Glenda Gerlach will serve as the Camping Office Coordinator beginning February 8, 2016. She replaces Diane Weller who is transitioning to the position of Donor Relations and Development Coordinator for the Dakotas United Methodist Foundation. Glenda has been working for the past 12 years at Santel Communications as a Technology Support Specialist. "I am excited to join the Dakotas UMC Conference staff," said Gerlach. "This position allows me to use my creative and technical traits along with my faith to promote the camping ministry."

She is a graduate of Dakota Wesleyan University. Gerlach grew up in Plankinton, South Dakota where she was an active member in the United Methodist Church. After college, she worked as Customer Service Representative and First Partners Adviser at First Dakota National Bank.

Gerlach was selected from a field of several excellent candidates. “We are excited to welcome Glenda to the camping ministry and Dakotas UMC,” said Keith Shew, Interim Director of Camping for the Dakotas-Minnesota Area. “Glenda brings excellent experience in customer care and service, technology and marketing. She is a self-starter and a team player with organizational skills. Her warmth and enthusiasm are contagious!” 

Glenda lives on a farm near Stickney, South Dakota with her husband Jaylon. The Gerlachs claim their dog Cooper as their only child. "If you were to drive by our place, you would see me walking or running with Cooper," said Glenda. "I also like to sign up for different 5K's throughout the year." Music is a passion for Glenda. The couple are active members of Fusion church in Mitchell where Glenda serves on the Staff-Parish Relations Board. In the winter months, Glenda and Jaylon enjoy sitting in the Corn Palace cheering on the DWU Tigers.
