Do you find it challenging to choose really meaningful gifts for adult friends, family members and colleagues? Many of us have all we need and more.

Solar Oven Partners (SOP) offers an Alternative Gift—something that will honor the recipient’s passion for a solution when a family struggles with tight resources for food.
A solar oven delivered with personal training by a mission team to a family in the Dominican Republic can increase food and water security, replace smoky fires with healthy/safe solar cooking, and provide a solution to environmental devastation. Wouldn’t such a gift truly honor a family member or friend?
In the nearly 17-year history, Solar Oven Partners celebrates the distribution of its 10,000th solar oven for use by impoverished families this December!
Thanks to our partnership with Ardell and Gordon Graner, UM Spanish-speaking missionaries who are North Dakota natives, Volunteers-in-Mission now travel to the Dominican Republic at the request of Iglesia Evangélica Dominicana [IED] churches and their bishop. We can provide ovens with confidence that SOP is not only a stable but expanding mission.
A $50 gift delivers training and shipping; $100 provides the components of a solar oven; $150 puts an oven into the hands of a Dominican family plus mandatory training that builds a sense of ownership and investment—you get the idea!

Some of you will be receiving an Alternative Gifts brochure by snail mail in early December, but we knew you might be making gift-giving decisions now. You may download a brochure for printing by clicking this link. Your recipient will receive a card describing the SOP Alternative Gift given in your name. Here’s another idea: why not mail a brochure to parents, siblings or children and tell them what you’d like for Christmas—a contribution to Solar Oven Partners!
Thank you for strong support for solar ovens—a life-giving gift.
