PIEDMONT, SOUTH DAKOTA -- Grace United Methodist Church, Piedmont, SD intends to give over $10,000 toward the 2014 Miracle Offering. "Just as a gift helped Grace in a time of need and congregational development," Pastor Karl Kroger says, "it is fitting that the congregation offer support to the launching of the church in Kenmare, ND."
Grace UMC received nearly a decade ago from the Dakotas Conference, the church is now paying the gift forward. The church was in need of support and the conference stepped forward. Grace has decided now is the time to give back. The $10,000 is a pledge that will be funded over a period of time.
In addition to the $10,000 being paid forward, the Mission Committee at Grace UMC is also getting behind the Miracle Offering, pledging $500 for ministry in the Bakken. The Bakken Oil Rush Ministry was launced in 2013 after $290,000 was collected in a Miracle Offering called for by Bishop Bruce R.Ough.
