O God of love and justice, we praise you this day. You bless us with the bounty of fields and forests. You provide shelter and food for many. Help us to share your love and the necessities of life with one another and all creatures. Teach us to love the work of your hands and to care for the land, the waters, the skies, and the whole creation. So we give you thanks for your steadfast love and mercy. Amen.
Prayer by Rev. Marty Toepke-Floyd
Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind: "Who is this that darkens counsel by words without knowledge? Gird up your loins like a man, I will question you, and you shall declare to me.
"Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Tell me, if you have understanding. Who determined its measurements — surely you know! Or who stretched the line upon it? On what were its bases sunk, or who laid its cornerstone when the morning stars sang together and all the heavenly beings shouted for joy?"
Job 38:1-7
