The Journey @ Spirit Lake returned to in person worship on Sunday, June 7, 2020. It was a day of sunshine and 88 degrees, for the 25 that gathered to worship the Lord.
Pastor Mike Flowers said, “Even though we remained at a distance, it was great being together again for worship. We have continued to keep in touch with each other, but seeing each face as we worshiped was special.”
The return to in-person worship marks the first time the congregation has gathered as a group since March 15, 2020.
Libby Flowers provided the children with take home coloring sheets and crayons. She said, “It was great seeing everyone, but I can’t wait for the time we get hugs from the little ones.”
Picnic tables were set up with social distancing in mind. Hand sanitizer and face masks were available for everyone.
"This was the first of many outdoor worship opportunities we can see in the future," said Pastor Mike. "We continue our online presence for those who were uncomfortable in coming or were just not able to make it."
The Journey @ Spirit Lake is a Ministry of the Spirit Lake Ministry Center on the Spirt Lake Nation in North Dakota.
