Bishop Robert Schnase, Missouri Area will present two teaching sessions on September 26 at 11:30a.m. - 12:30 p.m. and 1:30-3:00 p.m. You can watch the sessions via livestream or attend at Fargo First UMC.
Seven Levers explores conferences in operational terms—what works, what doesn’t, and what can we learn from experimenting and innovating. It invites conference leaders to look afresh at systems that are no longer conducive to our mission, and to try new things. The purpose of Seven Levers is not to suggest how we fix what seems broken, but to point out what we need to work on together in order for a new, more missional connectionalism to emerge that is more relevant and effective.
Robert Schnase serves as bishop of the Missouri Conference of the United Methodist Church, and is the author of the bestselling books Five Practices of Fruitful Congregations, Five Practices of Fruitful Living, Practicing Extravagant Generosity, and Seven Levers: Missional Strategies for Conferences.
Before his election as bishop, Schnase served for fifteen years as senior pastor of First United Methodist Church in McAllen, Texas, a congregation that became widely known for its extensive mission and outreached, for reaching younger generations, and bicultural ministry. He also served congregations in Harlingen, Texas and in Great Britain.
Bishop Schnase is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and Perkins School of Theology. He enjoys birding, fishing, canoeing, and traveling in Central America.
Schnase ‘s wife, Esther, works as a librarian with the University of Missouri, and they have two young adult sons, Karl and Paul.
