BRANDON, SOUTH DAKOTA -- Ninety-nine meals, ninety-nine blessings in one day happened at Celebrartion United Methodist Church in Brandon, South Dakota. Middle and high school youth gathered with a few adult helpers and made 99 freezer meals. The meals were distributed throughout the week in the community.
Each person who attended on a recent Sunday worship were challenged to bring a meal home and give the meal to someone during the week. The meals brought happiness and blessings to many.
Mission outreach was a sermon series theme. Everyone who attended worship was challenged duirng the week to reach out to three other people that week. The freezer meals was one way that people could reach out to others.
Here are some comments from the distribution of the 99 freezer meals.
"I brought my meal to one of my neighbors. My neightbor cold not believe I would just give them this meal. They wanted to pay me for it. They just could not believe someone would just do this to be kind to their neighbor."
"I had a friend getting out of the hopsital and they really appreciated getting the meal. It was neat to be able to help out this way."
