PIERRE, SOUTH DAKOTA -- This is the story of the "small church that could” but not without the communities of faith that made it so. Southeast Pierre and Community Center has a new roof that is expected to last a lifetime.
“Praise and Thanksgiving to the many who made the new roof at the Southeast Pierre United Methodist Church and Community Center possible,” said Pastor Jeri Burns.
The Dakotas Conference Builders Club, local fundraising and an anonymous donor from out of state provided funds. The church was able to pay the entire bill for the new roof.
The roof will provide greater weather efficiency, saving money on heating and cooling bills. The donations allowed for the purchase of high quality roofing materials that are guaranteed for the lifetime of the building.
“Thanks also to Pastor Karl for his leadership getting the years of dreams and prayers into process. Every donation, large and small, made this possible and it shows what we as a conference can do working together,” said Burns.
