KDLT Report by Mark Roper
There's no question we've seen Sioux Falls top many lists as a fast-growing city.
What you may not know is now it also has one of the fastest growing churches in the country.
Outreach magazine ranked Embrace Church as the fourth fastest growing church in the country.
And the magazine also pointed out the lead pastor at Embrace for earning a unique distinction.
Embrace pastor Adam Weber leads communion this morning to a nearly packed church.
At thirty-one-years-old, he is one of the two youngest pastors in the country.
And with a two-thirds jump in attendance, many church-goers can be seen sitting shoulder to shoulder.
He says the church may not be perfect but he calls meeting new people and what's happening there, amazing.
"It's just a blessing of seeing week to week, new faces come. I think it the thing I prayed would happen. And people having the courage to go check out a church. I know that's a big step for anybody, it would be for me as well. And so its cool. It's such a gift to see people come to church who haven't been for a while, are new to town or looking for a church home. I think there's no greater joy for a pastor than seeing new faces come," Pastor Weber said.
Weber tells us he can't take much of the credit for becoming a pastor at such a relatively young age. He says he's thankful but calls himself an unlikely person to be a pastor.
Yet, he believes it could be his own shortcomings which connect most with people.
And it's his ability to relate to so many different types of people which may be part of Embrace's success.
