Mission events held throughout the month of September in the Dakotas Conference resulted in over $250,0000 worth of cash and mission kits.  Events held included: Pack the Vans in Fargo, Bismarck and Minot, North Dakota; Party on the Prairie, Minot, North Dakota; Mission Fair, Pierre, South Dakota; and Dakota Marketplace, Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

A value of $191,000 in mission kits were collected at all the sites.  A semi-truck full of mission kits make its way to the UMCOR West Depot in Salt Lake City, Utah. The Dakotas Conference provides that largest volume of mission kits to the Utah warehouse.

Over $61,000 cash was collected from silent auction items, live auction items, and farmer’s market items at Minot, Pierre and Sioux Falls.  

Approximately $25,000 cash will be distributed to hunger projects throughout the Dakotas Conference. Click here to download an application for funding. Applications for funding will be accepted until October 15.  A subcommittee of the Extending Missional Impact Link will review the applications.

The remainder of the cash funds will be distributed to UMCOR for preparation and shipping costs of mission kits, Church World Service for blankets, and Imagine No Malaria.
