I have always been a devoted morning person, and I can’t help but feel that today's psalm was written for the morning.
In the summer, I love to wake up as the sun is rising, pour myself a huge, deliciously aromatic cup of coffee, feed my dog, and sit on the swing out on the back porch. There is something inherently sacred about the way the sunlight makes the dew on the grass sparkle as well as the natural, unbounded joy of my dog romping around the yard in his excitement. The day is holy to me.
We all have holy moments like this, moments where we just want to read today's psalm over and over again. The psalm comes to life in the holiness of such moments. These are the moments we need to look for, the moments we need to search out and then be fully present in, enjoying the comfort and joy that come from following Christ.
