WATERTOWN, SOUTH DAKOTA -- The PACH (People Against Child Hunger) under the direction of Rev. Sara Nelson, Watertown First United Methodist has been selected as the “Friend of Education” by the Watertown Education Association (WEA).
The PACH Program works with school staff to provide complimentary snacks and meals to students who may need an additional food resource over weekends during the school year. The food is given to the child before she/he leaves school each Friday (or in case of holiday, the last day before the break).
The Watertown Education Association (WEA) recognizes the important role that the entire community plays in educating our youth. Each spring, the organization recognizes a “Friend of Education.” The people, institutions, or organizations nominated must have proven to be a friend of education through actions and/or words, and show support for the teaching profession.
WEA is please to announce that the PCH Program has been selected as the 2013 Friend of education. Rev. Sara Nelson will receive the award on behalf of PACH May 1, 2013 in Watertown, South Dakota.
