BISMARCK, NORTH DAKOTA -- "Continuing our Journey Toward Vitality" is the theme of the 2014 School of Ministry to be held April 29-30 at McCabe United Methodist Church in Bismarck, North Dakota.  Rev. Dr. Tex Sample, a well-known figure in The United Methodist Church will lead three teaching sessions on boldly stepping out as leaders.

Clergy and Laity are welcome at the Dakotas School of Ministry. The Dakotas School of Ministry will be available via the DAVID videoconferencing system.  A bookstore featuring Rev. Sample's books and childcare will also be available for those attending the School of Ministry in Bismarck. 

Sample is an Elder in the Missouri Conference, a Professor Emeritus on Church and Society at the St. Paul School of Theology in Kansas City, and an activist for human rights. He is a keen observer and commentator whose life's work has allowed him to "crisscross boundaries between poor and rich, town and gown, wise and ignorant, believer and atheist," and his credentials range from a PhD taken at Boston University, to work as a cab driver and a roust-about in the oil fields. In academics, he has worked and taught in the areas of social theory and social change, power, and theological ethics.
