Relationships. Relationships mean, well, relating to others, listening to them, trying to understand them. Relationships mean giving up doubt for trust. But, come on, right? It isn’t always easy (or possible) to just trust someone, or get them, or understand where they are coming from. It seems a little strange that these disciples get fussed at by Jesus. That’s what it reads like. Because they doubt, Jesus feels frustrated?
Aren’t we allowed to doubt? Aren’t we allowed to come to faith feeling what we really feel? Sure we are. And so were these two disciples. Just be ready to be reminded of God’s constant, consistent and ever-inviting voice in your life and in your history. We can doubt, misunderstand, not relate. But be reminded that from the beginning, God has been inviting us to be in relationship.
