Greg Henson has been elected as the 12th President of Sioux Falls Seminary by the Board of Trustees, effective February 3, 2014. The announcement follows a nationwide search in which candidates were interviewed and evaluated by the seminary’s Presidential Search Committee. The Board of Trustees was unanimous and enthusiastic regarding the appointment of Henson.
Until the start of his new term at Sioux Falls Seminary, Henson will complete his role as the Vice President for Institutional Advancement at Northern Baptist Theological Seminary in Lombard, IL, where he has developed and implemented educational partnerships and programs that encourage innovation and introduce change.
Henson is experienced in the many facets of theological education and has a passion for the Church and the role of seminaries. At Northern Seminary, he played a key role in the school’s success by developing staffing structures, academic programs, fundraising initiatives, and financial models built on integrated organizational designs.

After taking office in February, Henson looks forward to working with the Sioux Falls Seminary community to create a system of theological education that is affordable, accessible, and relevant through integrated innovation, transformational giving, and inviting people to participate in what God is doing at Sioux Falls Seminary.
Prior to his Vice President role at Northern, Henson served as Chief of Institutional Advancement, Executive Director of External Relations, and Executive Director of Advancement and Enrollment Management. Additional ministry experience includes roles as senior pastor, youth pastor, worship leader, camp director, and church planting team member. He holds a Master's in Business Administration (focus: integrated organizational development) from Benedictine University in Lisle, IL, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with emphases in Leadership and Nonprofit Management (other foci: Religion and Music) from William Jewel College in Liberty, MO.
