Rev. Dr. Charles Sommers, 87, passed away on Monday, March 21, 2022, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburg, Indiana. He was a retired elder of the Dakotas Conference. 

Rev. Sommers served the Dakotas Conference as the chaplain of Sioux Valley Hospitial in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, now known as Sanford Hospital.

Funeral services were held on Monday, March 28, 2022 at Newburgh United Methodist Church.
