Janet Nelson, 97, of Mitchell, South Dakota, died Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital in Mitchell.  Janet is the widow of Rev. Walter Nelson, elder of the Dakotas Conference.

Together Walt and Janet served the Dakotas Conference at: Viborg; Rowena / Ben Clare; Elk Point / Richland / Burbank; Diamond Care Center, Bridgewater; Jenkins Home, Watertown; Flandreau / Egan; and Methodist Hospital, Mitchell / Ethan.

A private family burial was held Friday, September 29, at Underwood Cemetery in rural White Lake.
