Rev. Wayne McKirdy, age 95, passed away on Sunday, January 26th, at the North Dakota Veterans' Home in Lisbon, N.D. Wayne was a retired elder in the Dakotas Conference. He is also the father of Dakotas Conference elder, Rev. Scott McKirdy.

Together with his wife, Maybelle, Rev. McKirdy served at Napoleon and Braddock, N.D., Tioga, N.D., Edgeley, N.D., Black Hills Methodist Camp and Piedmont, S.D., Faulkton and Seneca, S.D., Bigstone City and Revillo, S.D., and North Dakota Camping Director at Wesley Acres Camp, N.D. After retiring in 1991, they were appointed to serve Wimbledon, Salem, Dazey, Leal, and Valley City Epworth, all in North Dakota.

There will be an informal prayer service held at the North Dakota Veterans’ Home in Lisbon on Friday, January 31st, at 10:30am CST with pecan pie following. The funeral service will be at Epworth United Methodist Church in Valley City on Saturday, February 1st, at 10am CST with more pecan pie following. The family has requested a clergy choir as a part of the service. Clergy are invited to gather at 9:30 am to prepare. Burial will be in the Gladstone Cemetery on Saturday afternoon around 3:30pm MST.
