MITCHELL, SOUTH DAKOTA – Three busloads of 126 youth and adults signed up for the SOS - Serving our Savior - mission trip to Seattle. The camp where the 126 youth and adults will be staying is FILLED. A third bus has been added to accommodate all the travellers on the trip.
“Yee-haw!!! If you are signed up, make sure you have joined our Facebook group ‘Serving our Savior’ ", noted Pastor John Britt, Rapid City First UMC and trip organizer.
The group plans to work in food banks, homeless shelters, thrift stores, a huge community garden, and a variety of other settings.
Participants will also enjoy a dinner and cultural presentation by the Fiji and Samoan communities. One day will be spend exploring and playing in Seattle.
The buses will depart Sioux Falls, South Dakota on Friday, June 20, and will stop overnight in Rapid City, South Dakota. The group will depart for Seattle on June 21, with a stop in Spearfish. South Dakota.
Buses will return to Spearfish and Rapid City on June 28 and to Sioux Falls on June 29. Participants are welcome to stay at First UMC in Rapid City or Spearfish UMC on June 28 as needed.
