United Theological Seminary, one of 13 United Methodist seminaries in the United States, has elected the Rev. Kent Millard as its new president. Millard served 18 years at St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Indianapolis, is a member of the Dakota Wesleyan University Board of Trustees, served churches of Flandruea / Egan; Rapid City Canyon Lake; Mitchell First and Sioux Falls First in the Dakotas Conference. He served as United’s interim president.

Rev. Kent Millard was at General Conference 2016, and stopped to speak with Dr. Doreen Gosmire, Dakotas Conference communications director. He reflected on his childhood memories of being accepted into the church as an "outsider", his calling to ministry, and the love he feels for and from the people of the Dakotas Conference.
