MITCHELL, S.D. — Dakota Wesleyan University, Mitchell, S.D., recently took time to honor and recognize several employees and Bismarck native, Rev. Brandon Vetter, was recognized as this year’s Presidential Award-winner for Outstanding Service.
Vetter, DWU’s campus pastor, was chosen through special nomination to the university’s president.
“Brandon Vetter has been instrumental in transforming the spiritual and religious experience on our campus,” states his nomination. “Since Brandon’s arrival, he has quadrupled the attendance at the weekly worship service, expanded outreach ministries, doubled the mission trip experiences, and led the development of a Sunday worship service on our campus.”
The nomination also pointed out that Vetter is a challenging instructor who integrates relevant and contemporary issues into the classroom and is highly respected by his students.
“Brandon has worked tirelessly to share and witness the Methodist commitment to justice, compassion and evangelization. His persistence in partnering with the First United Methodist Church led to the development of the Fusion worship service.”
Vetter grew up in Bismarck, N.D., graduating from Bismarck High School in 1999. He attended Dakota Wesleyan University from 1999-2003, graduating with a triple major in communication, human services and multimedia. He has been the campus pastor at DWU since 2006.
