What Jesus Came to Do Isaiah 40:28-31

Through the prophet Isaiah, we are reminded that God is God. Jesus came to remind us of that as well. Through Jesus' ministry, life, death, and resurrection we can be reminded of God’s power and have faith in God’s power at work in our own lives.

The book of Isaiah tells us that belief in God’s power can strengthen us. Isaiah tells us that “those who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength.” But what does it mean to “wait for the Lord?” Isaiah doesn’t tell us that we receive renewed strength just because we want it. It says renewed strength is for those who wait for the Lord. To me, this means living the way a servant waits on someone — standing by, patiently asking what to do next.

Are you waiting on God? Or are you waiting on something else?
