Transformational processes: The Dakotas Conference has two revitalization processes designed to help existing churches find new ways to disciple people, share God’s love, and make a difference in their communities and the world. The processes are geared toward churches that are seeking a fresh vision, wanting to refresh their strategic plan, eager to become more vital and vibrant, and/or ready to explore new ways to connect with their mission field. Congregational development tools: Churches can receive specialized consulting in a wide variety of areas; learn about their strengths and vulnerabilities through a survey process; learn how first-time visitors experience worship through mystery guest audits; and receive data and trend reports or demographic information specific to their congregation or mission field. Multiplying disciples: A multiplication culture is being created to expand help churches footprint. Multiply involves starting a new workshop service, launching a new worship site, starting a solar congregation or partner congregation. Two programs are available for churches to create a culture of multiplication. Multiply Leader designed to help leaders move beyond growth by addition. Multiply worship program will help you start another worship service or site to reach new people using church planting methods. Learn more
Creating a culture of call: The vitality of The United Methodist Church begins in the local church, where faith is formed and nurtured in people of all ages, especially the young. Equipping congregations to speak the language of call and move intentionally toward discovering and nurturing their vocation will contribute to the health and vitality of their own faith, community, and of the denomination. God calls everyone into ministry, but ministry means more than ordination. The Office of Leadership Development provides resources to help everyone discern their called. Learn more
Videos: Churches throughout the Dakotas Conference are responding to God’s call to grow in love of God and neighbor, reach new people, and heal a broken world. Every year, some of the stories of the breakthroughs in our midst are told through videos, and congregations are encouraged to show these videos in worship. View videos
